That’s why we’ve launched New Hire Celebrations, a fresh BirthdayBot feature that makes welcoming new teammates in Slack effortless.
How it works, step by step
⭕ Detects new members automatically. As soon as someone joins your Slack workspace, BirthdayBot sends you (or your selected channel) a notification that a new hire has arrived.⭕ Allows you to plan a welcome instantly. From that notification or directly from BirthdayBot’s Home tab, you can open the New Hire Celebrations setup and choose how you want to introduce them.
⭕ Provides a ready-to-use welcome template. We’ve included a pre-filled message that automatically pulls in the new hire’s name and role. You can send it as-is or customize it with extra details, fun facts, or emojis.
⭕ Gives you full posting control. Select the Slack channel (e.g., #general, #welcome, or a project-specific channel) and schedule the announcement immediately or at a specific time.
⭕ Keeps things flexible. Don’t want automatic notifications? Turn them off anytime. Want to post in multiple channels? Go ahead, it won’t affect your billing.
⭕ Not interested in this feature? You can simply disable these notifications once and forever.
