An active user is a workspace member, whose birthday, work anniversary (or both) are known and announced by BirthdayBot.

If the team celebrates birthdays only: in case the Celebration Channel has 50 users but only 35 have provided their birthday information, that counts as 35 active users.

If the team celebrates work anniversaries only: 35 people with added hire dates are counted as 35 active users.

If the team celebrates both birthdays and work anniversaries: we count all users with at least one date filled out (date of birth or hire date) and charge for them.

BirthdayBot is billing monthly based on the current number of active users for monthly and yearly subscriptions.

However, the yearly subscription plan implies a 12-month payment commitment (and is about 20% cheaper).

BirthdayBot bills in US dollars.

All payments go through the Stripe payment system. It accepts cards, ApplePay, GooglePay, and a lot more. Here is a list of all supported payment methods. All invoices can be found in the Billing section, once the admin signs in with their Slack account.

Sure, we charge about 20% less for an annual commitment.

Your price may adjust automatically if the number of active users grows or shrinks into a different bucket (see the table above).

All charges and refunds are automatically carried out by Stripe, the payment system we use for handling payments. Should you have any questions, please contact us. The general terms look like this:

For annual plans:

Should you exceed your prepaid tier on an annual plan, we’ll adjust your billing as follows: We calculate the additional cost required for the higher tier. For example, if in January your initial tier (11-20 users) costs $12/month and you’ve paid for a year in advance, but in August you grow to 21 users, we’ll work out the difference in cost between your current tier and the next tier.

Additional Charge: The difference in cost is then multiplied by the remaining months in your prepaid period. In the example, where the new tier (21 users) is $29/month, the difference is $17/month. With 4 months left in your plan, the additional charge will be 4 months x $17/month.

Refunds for Downgrades: If you later drop back to a lower tier, we’ll credit your account with the difference at the end of the billing period. This credit can be used for your next year’s subscription.

We aim to make billing adjustments as seamless as possible, ensuring you only pay for the resources you need.

For monthly plans:

Additional Charge: When you’re moving to a higher tier, we’ll work out the difference in cost in the current month and start billing according to the new pricing tier from the next month on.

Refunds for Downgrades: If you later drop back to a lower tier, we’ll credit your account with the difference at the end of the billing month. This credit can be used for your next month’s subscription.

The plan is designed for large and distributed teams and includes separate timezone settings for each channel and birthday celebration card packs 🌿 Mild, 🍹 Fizzy, and 🌶️ Spicy in multiple languages:

• Spanish
• Portuguese (versions for Portugal and Brazil)
• German
• Korean
• and Japanese.

Any language can be combined with English in the 🍹 Fizzy pack.

The Standard plan works well for most teams and includes robust functionality with almost no limits.

The Pro plan is designed for larger, hybrid, and distributed teams that need more control. It offers advanced customization options, including multiple Celebration Channels, multiple time zones, different content styles, custom branding, and priority support. Pro customers can also discuss tailored customizations and HR system integrations.

Company details can be updated by the billing admin in the Billing section. Just go to Billing information → Update information.

You can access it anytime by clicking Log in in the top right corner → Your Profile icon in the lower left corner → Billing.

To cancel your subscription, visit the Billing page within the BirthdayBot Billing Dashboard and complete the cancellation process from there.

Important note: To cancel your subscription, please use the Billing Dashboard. Removing BirthdayBot from Slack or from the Celebration Channel does not cancel your subscription.
