BirthdayBot Gift Card Service Terms and Conditions

Intro

BirthdayBot can be your one-stop-shop for birthday congratulations. We provide Anytime Gift Cards for Slack-based teams!

The feature is available in the USA and in 30+ other countries. The list of countries is dynamic: its most relevant version is available in the BirthdayBot interface after the user hits the ‘Contribute to a gift’ button.

Simply on how it works

Any member of the workspace can send a gift card to celebrate a special occasion.

These occasions can include professional milestones such as work anniversaries, successful project completions, or new roles, as well as personal milestones like marriages, the birth of a child, taking a sabbatical, or retirement.

To make the day special, team members can send a meaningful gift by following these simple steps:

1) Choose the recipient: Use the drop-down list to find the necessary person;
2) Choose the region: Select the recipient's region.
3) Select the amount: After being redirected to the payment service, choose the gift card amount.
4) Leave a message: Add a heartfelt congratulatory message.

The funds are transferred to Runa, a large international gift card marketplace. The recipient will receive your message along with a link to their personal e-wallet at this marketplace. They can use the funds to choose a gift card of their preference (or multiple gift cards) or donate to a charity. 💖

An important not on choosing the region

It allows sending the gift card balance in the right currency and adjusting the list of stores and brands to their location. If the birthday person’s country is not on the list, you may want to choose USA: the list of available brands will prioritize the USA, however, some can be redeemed worldwide.

Acceptance of Terms

By using the BirthdayBot Contribution Gift Card Service (hereinafter referred to as "the Service”, “BirthdayBot”, or “Bot"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Description of the Service

The feature is available for all BirthdayBot users and is enabled by default when installing BirthdayBot.

The feature can be accessed from the BirthdayBot Home Tab. The Service allows users to send funds in the form of a multi-brand digital gift card. Any kind of participation in the activity and gifts to coworkers are voluntary and are not intended to be obligatory in any case.

BirthdayBot processes the funds and transfers them to Runa, a gift card marketplace operating in multiple countries. After that, BirthdayBot sends a congratulatory message to the recipient mentioning the gift card giver and adding their wishes, along with a link to their e-wallet at Runa.io. There the recipient can use the funds to select a gift card of their choice or multiple ones in the selected location.

As of this document's publication date, the feature is available for users within the USA and other countries. The list of countries is approximate, depends on the gift card provider (Runa) and subject to change. The most up-to-date list of available countries can be found in the BirthdayBot interface while selecting the country of the gift card recipient.

Contributions and Payments

Contributions: Users may contribute funds towards a gift card. The donations are voluntary and non-refundable. The payments are accepted in the currency of the country, selected by the user. The minimum amounts vary depending on the selected country of the gift card recipient and are automatically demonstrated on the Stripe payment page. Users can choose any amount exceeding the minimum amount set by default. For the USA, BirthdayBot deducts a ten percent fee from the total contribution amount rounded up to the nearest US dollar. For all other countries except for the USA, BirthdayBot deducts a twenty percent fee from the contribution rounded up to the nearest full currency unit. It is done to cover the fees of the Stripe payment system, the Runa gift card marketplace, as well as its own service expenses.

Payment: Payments for contributions must be made using accepted payment methods. BirthdayBot is not responsible for any issues related to payment processing and does not bear the responsibility for canceled payments, payment delays, or other issues caused by banks, payment providers, and similar services (see also Part 6 of this document: “Limitation of Liability”).

Gift Card Redemption

Recipients can redeem the gift card balance by selecting a gift card of their choice from the available options. The availability of gift cards may vary depending on the region of the gift card receiver and the final amount available for purchasing a gift card. BirthdayBot is not responsible for the variety of gift cards available on the provider’s website (Runa).

Expiration and Refunds

BirthdayBot does not provide any refunds or reimbursements, including refunds for unused gift card marketplace balances or unused gift cards. As a mediator, BirthdayBot provides the organizational services or the contribution process within the platform. After the contributions are collected, BirthdayBot immediately transfers the collected funds to the gift card marketplace and does not manage them anymore.

However, the BirthdayBot product team is committed to providing assistance to users in answering their questions and solving their issues and strives to find suitable resolutions for each case. Users may contact BirthdayBot support via the contact form on our website.

Please note that while we will do our best to support you, the ultimate resolution of any issues arising from technical problems lies within the policies and capabilities of our integration partners.

Limitation of Liability

BirthdayBot is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of the gift cards offered by third-party retailers. BirthdayBot disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

BirthdayBot does not bear responsibility for technical issues that occur on the side of its integration partners such as Stripe.com, Runa.io, banks, payment services and providers, as well as vendors issuing gift cards. These issues include but are not limited to, the inability to make a payment, delays in payment transfers, availability of gift cards for specific amounts of money, and issues with gift card redemption.

BirthdayBot is not responsible for the content shared between users via the Service.

User Conduct

Users are prohibited from using the Service for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose. Users must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country of their residence. The service should not be used to share offensive, abusive, or other inappropriate content.

Privacy

BirthdayBot's Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information provided by users. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Termination

BirthdayBot reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason in our sole discretion.

BirthdayBot reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service at any time after notifying users by email or by messages within the BirthdayBot digital product or by posting a corresponding notice on the official website.

The right to modify these Terms and Conditions

We can change or modify these Terms, as well as any other policies, anytime upon written notice to users. The notice may be provided via email, in bot messages, or by posting the updated text on our website and providing the revision date.

The right to modify the Services

We also can modify the Services, fully or partially, temporarily or permanently, without notice or liability to users. It can happen due to many reasons: expanding the Services, adding new functionality, maintaining the technical compatibility with the industry standards, or in order to meet updated regulatory requirements.

Governing Law

Users acknowledge that they are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations associated with their access and use of the Services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED FOR HEREIN, THE SERVICES AND ALL RELATED COMPONENTS AND INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, AND WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, TITLE, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
